The Government has opened counter at Delhi Airport for appraisal of fliers travelling with expensive items such as gold and precious jewellery. The facility has been provided by the Customs at Delhi airport for foreign bound passengers. The facility is available at departure IGI Airport Terminal-3, Airport Link Building, New Delhi during working hours from Monday to Friday. This facility is operational with effect from 6th January, 2015.
This was stated by Shri Jayant Sinha, Minister of State in Ministry of Finance in written reply to a question in the Lok Sabha.
Customs appraisal counter enables departure valuation of high value jewellery for foreign bound passengers, improving declaration and clearance. The Government established a Customs appraisal counter at the international departure terminal to provide on site valuation of high value items such as gold and precious jewellery, facilitating accurate departure valuation, passenger declaration, and customs clearance for foreign bound travellers during specified weekday working hours.Press 'Enter' after typing page number.
