The current financial year is the first year of implementation of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) by companies under the Companies Act, 2013. Details of money spent by corporate houses on CSR are expected to be available after the mandatory disclosures on CSR are made by companies towards the end of the year 2015.
This was stated by Shri Arun Jaitley, Minister of Corporate Affairs in written reply to a question in the Rajya Sabha today.
Corporate Social Responsibility implementation requires mandatory disclosures, with corporate spending details to follow after year-end filings. Implementation of Corporate Social Responsibility under the Companies Act commenced in the current financial year, creating statutory disclosure obligations; detailed information on corporate CSR spending will be available only after companies file their mandatory CSR disclosures at the end of the reporting period, as stated by the Minister of Corporate Affairs.Press 'Enter' after typing page number.
