<h1>CCI Probes Realty Sector for Unfair Practices; 132 Cases Reviewed, Major Penalty Imposed Under Competition Act, 2002.</h1> The Competition Commission of India (CCI) is investigating alleged unfair practices in the realty sector. As of February 11, 2015, CCI has addressed 132 cases related to anti-competitive practices or abuse of dominance, closing 93 at the preliminary stage and resolving 3 after reviewing the Director General's report. The Commission issued cease and desist orders in 13 cases and imposed a Rs. 630 crore penalty on a major realty company, alongside a cease and desist order. The CCI operates under the Competition Act, 2002, to address such issues, as confirmed by the Minister of Corporate Affairs.
