India and World Bank Partner on $8M SLACC Project to Boost Rural Climate Resilience in Bihar and Madhya Pradesh.
India has signed a grant agreement with the World Bank for US$ 8 million to support the Sustainable Livelihoods and Adaptation to Climate Change (SLACC) Project. The agreement aims to enhance the resilience of rural communities, especially women farmers, against climate change impacts in Bihar and Madhya Pradesh. The project will work alongside government programs to improve adaptive capacity in farm-based livelihoods, addressing climate variability and its effects on natural resources and incomes. The initiative will be integrated into the National Rural Livelihoods Mission, which serves as the implementing agency.
