        Shri Rajiv Mehrishi, IAS (RJ:78) took over as Secretary Department of Economic Affairs(DEA), Ministry of Finance, Government of India with effect from the afternoon of 30th October, 2014 and until further orders. The Notification in this regard was issued today.

        Shri Mehrishi succeeds Shri Arivnd Mayaram, IAS (RJ:78) who, in turn, was relieved yesterday of his duties as Finance Secretary and Secretary, Department of Economic Affairs in order to take-up his new assignment as Secretary, Ministry of Minority Affairs, Government of India.

        Appointment of Secretary Department of Economic Affairs: Rajiv Mehrishi assumes office replacing his predecessor under government notification. Rajiv Mehrishi, IAS, assumed charge as Secretary, Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance by government notification effective from the afternoon of 30th October and until further orders, succeeding Arvind Mayaram, IAS, who was relieved to take up the assignment as Secretary, Ministry of Minority Affairs.
