<h1>Government Boosts Indigenous Electronics with Policies, Incentives, and Duty Changes; No New Hardware Policy Planned.</h1> The government has implemented various initiatives to boost indigenous industries in electronics hardware and solar panels. These include the National Policy on Electronics 2012, preference for domestically manufactured electronic products in government procurement, and schemes like the Modified Special Incentive Package Scheme and Electronic Manufacturing Clusters. The Union Budget 2014-15 proposed changes in customs and excise duties to support domestic manufacturing. Additionally, two semiconductor wafer fabrication facilities have been approved. The Department of Electronics and Information Technology confirmed no new hardware policy is planned, as stated by the Minister of State in a Rajya Sabha reply.
