<h1>Ministry Investigates 63 Companies for Fund Misappropriation u/s 235, Companies Act 1956, in West Bengal.</h1> As of June 30, 2014, West Bengal had 1,82,417 registered companies and 1,168 Limited Liability Partnerships (LLPs). Over the past three years, annual registrations included 17,698 companies and 187 LLPs in 2011-12, 12,398 companies and 243 LLPs in 2012-13, and 9,939 companies and 461 LLPs in 2013-14. For 2014-15, up to June 30, there were 577 companies and 121 LLPs registered. Following complaints of fund misappropriation by certain companies, the Ministry of Corporate Affairs has initiated investigations under Section 235 of the Companies Act, 1956, into 63 companies' affairs. This was reported by a government official in the Rajya Sabha.
