State Bank of India (SBI) has launched six Digital Branches in the country on 1st July, 2014, one each at Ahmedabad, Chennai, Delhi and Mumbai and two branches at Bengaluru. Concept of Digital Branches by SBI is its own initiative, and further roll out would depend on the success of such branches opened.
This information was given by the Minister of State for Finance, Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman in written reply to a question in Lok Sabha today.
Digital Branches rollout initiated by SBI, expansion contingent on performance after initial branches launch phase. State Bank of India initiated the launch of six Digital Branches on 1 July 2014 across specified cities; the Digital Branches concept is an internal bank initiative and further expansion is conditioned on the operational success of these pilot branches, as communicated in a written parliamentary reply by the Minister of State for Finance.Press 'Enter' after typing page number.
