The National Sample Survey Office (NSSO) conducts Employment and Unemployment Surveys periodically. The per 1000 distribution of usually employed persons in manufacturing, for all India and state-wise, as provided by the 66th (2009-10) and 68th (2011-12) rounds of NSSO, is given in the Table at Annexure.

Comparative NSSO data present per 1000 distributions of usually employed persons in manufacturing for the 66th and 68th rounds across states and union territories, showing inter round changes and an All India increase in manufacturing employment concentration; the annexed table lists values for 35 jurisdictions and the source is NSSO reports cited in a parliamentary reply.
