Subsidies for fertilizers, food, petroleum, interest, and other areas were detailed, with total subsidies reaching over 255,000 crores in 2013-14. The Direct Benefit Transfer on LPG (DBTL) began in June 2013 but was halted in February 2014 due to consumer grievances. A committee was established to address these issues. This information was provided by the Minister of State for Finance in a Lok Sabha session.
