The Reserve Bank of India’s Reference Rate for the US dollar is ₹ 60.1853 and the Reference Rate for Euro is ₹ 81.4821 on July 21, 2014. The corresponding rates for the previous day (July 18, 2014) were ₹ 60.3300 and ₹ 81.5848 respectively. Based on the Reference Rate for the US dollar and the middle rates of the cross-currency quotes, the exchange rates of GBP and JPY against the Rupee are given below:

Reference rate publication sets exchange benchmarks for US dollar, Euro and derived cross currency rates against the rupee. Publication of the Reference Rate establishes official exchange benchmarks: the Reserve Bank supplied the Reference Rate for the US dollar and the Euro for the reporting day, provided the prior business day's rates, and supplied derived rupee exchange rates for pound sterling and Japanese yen based on the US dollar reference and cross currency mid rates; the notice also states the SDR Rupee rate will be based on the Reference Rate.
