<h1>India Launches eBiz Portal for Streamlined Business Licenses and Permits; Pilot in Select States.</h1> The Department of Industrial Policy Promotion under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry launched the eBiz portal to enhance the business environment in India. Initiated on January 28, 2013, the portal provides a single-window system for obtaining licenses and permits across all government levels. It offers services such as issuing Industrial Licenses and Entrepreneur Memoranda, aiming to save time, effort, and costs for businesses. The project began in June 2009, and states like Odisha, Punjab, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal are included in the pilot phase. The initiative was detailed by the Minister of State in a Lok Sabha response.
