<h1>India's CCI Can Fine Up to 10% of Turnover for Anti-Competitive Practices, Allows Lesser Penalties u/s 46.</h1> The Competition Commission of India (CCI), established under the Competition Act, 2002, is empowered to impose penalties for anti-competitive practices. Under Section 27(b) of the Act, the CCI can levy fines up to 10% of the average turnover from the last three years for abuse of dominant position and anti-competitive agreements. However, Section 46 permits the imposition of lesser penalties, guided by the Competition Commission of India (Lesser Penalty) Regulations, 2009. This information was provided by the Minister of Corporate Affairs in a written statement to the Lok Sabha.
