These agreements ensure fair and equitable treatment, most favored nation status, national treatment status, and a dispute resolution mechanism to encourage foreign investment. A government-appointed Working Group is reviewing the Model text of BIPA to incorporate experiences and international best practices from the past 20 years. This review considers various stakeholders' opinions and reservations. The information was provided by the Minister of State for Finance in a written response to a question in the Lok Sabha.
