The Reserve Bank of India’s Reference Rate for the US dollar is Rs.58.5873 and the Reference Rate for Euro is Rs.79.8140 on May 26, 2014. The corresponding rates for the previous day (May 23, 2014) were Rs.58.4830 and Rs.79.8058 respectively. Based on the Reference Rate for the US dollar and the middle rates of the cross-currency quotes, the exchange rates of GBP and JPY against the Rupee are given below:

Reference Rate update establishes benchmark rupee exchange values and links SDR-Rupee valuation to that benchmark. Reserve Bank of India published the daily Reference Rate for the US dollar and the Euro, reported prior-day comparatives, and used the dollar reference and middle cross-currency rates to derive and publish rupee exchange rates for other currencies; it also specified that the SDR-Rupee rate will be based on the published reference rate.
