<h1>Finance Ministry Boosts Allowance for Presidential Award Officers to Rs. 3,000 for First Act, Rs. 2,500 for Subsequent Acts.</h1> The Ministry of Finance has increased the monthly monetary allowance for officers awarded the Presidential Award of Appreciation Certificate for exceptionally meritorious service at the risk of life. Officers from Customs & Central Excise, Narcotics Control Bureau, and Directorate of Enforcement will now receive Rs. 3,000 monthly for the first act and Rs. 2,500 for subsequent acts. Previously, the allowance was Rs. 60 and Rs. 40, respectively. This change aims to motivate officers in their duties, which involve high-risk tasks such as apprehending smugglers and traffickers. Since 1962, only 41 officers have received this prestigious award.
