The Reserve Bank of India has been conducting Consumer Confidence Survey of Households (CCS) on a quarterly basis since June 2010. The survey aims at capturing subjective assessments of around 5,400 respondents across 6 metropolitan cities viz., Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai and New Delhi. The results of this Survey are being used by Reserve Bank as one of the important inputs for the monetary policy formulation. The survey seeks responses on questions pertaining to economic conditions, household circumstances, income & spending, perceptions on prices, employment prospects, Outlays for major purchases such as gold, car, house, durable goods etc.
The 17th round of the Survey has been launched on May 01, 2014. The agency M/s Sigma Research & Consulting Pvt. Ltd. has been engaged to conduct the field work of the Survey on behalf of the Reserve Bank of India. For this purpose, the respondents will be approached by the agency and the selected respondents are requested to provide the required information. Other individuals who are not approached by the agency can also participate in the survey round by downloading the survey schedule from the link. Consumer confidence survey captures household economic perceptions to inform monetary policy and invites public participation via downloadable schedule. Consumer Confidence Survey launched its seventeenth round to collect household perceptions on economic conditions, incomes, spending, price expectations, employment prospects and major purchase outlays across six metropolitan cities; results are used by the Reserve Bank as an input for monetary policy, fieldwork is conducted by M/s Sigma Research & Consulting Pvt.
