<h1>RBI Directs Banks to Extend Hours for Tax Payments Until March 31, 2014; Electronic Transactions Open Until Midnight.</h1> To facilitate tax payments before the end of the 2013-14 financial year, the Reserve Bank of India, at the request of the Central Board of Direct Taxes, has instructed all agency banks to keep designated branches open for extended hours until 8:00 pm on March 29, 2014. On March 30, select branches will operate as a regular working day, and on March 31, branches will remain open in areas where a public holiday is declared. Electronic transactions will continue until midnight on March 31, 2014.
