of <h1>Union Cabinet Approves DA/DR Increase to 100% for Central Govt Employees and Pensioners, Effective January 2014.</h1> The Union Cabinet approved an additional installment of Dearness Allowance (DA) for Central Government employees and Dearness Relief (DR) for pensioners, effective from January 1, 2014. This increase raises the DA/DR rate to 100% of the basic pay, up from 90%, and will be disbursed in cash after March 2014 salaries. The adjustment follows the 6th Central Pay Commission's recommendations. The financial impact on the exchequer is estimated at Rs. 11,074.80 crore annually and Rs. 12,920.60 crore for the 14-month period from January 2014 to February 2015.
