The Reserve Bank of India, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on “Supervisory Cooperation and Exchange of Supervisory Information” with Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL). The Reserve Bank has been signing the Memorandum of Understanding with supervisors of other countries to promote greater co-operation and sharing of supervisory information between the two supervisors. With this, the Reserve Bank has now executed nineteen such MoUs.
The MoU with CBSL was inked by Shri P Samarasiri, Secretary to the Monetary Board, Central Bank of Sri Lanka and Shri G Gopalakrishna, Executive Director, Reserve Bank of India.

Supervisory Cooperation establishes a formal information exchange framework between central banks to enhance cross-border banking oversight.
