The AKIC will span a 150-200 km band along the Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor across seven states, including Punjab and West Bengal. Phase-1 involves setting up Integrated Manufacturing Clusters (IMCs) in each state, with at least 40% of land dedicated to manufacturing and agro-processing. The project will utilize Public Private Partnerships for infrastructure, with central government support for land acquisition and project development. A three-tier institutional structure will oversee implementation, with a financial commitment of Rs 5600 crore over 15 years.
