        Shri M.S. Rana, Chairman & Managing Director, SPMCIL presented a Cheque of Rs. 50.00 lacs to Shri Nitish Kumar, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Bihar in New Delhi on 24.12.2013 as contribution towards relief and rehabilitation activities due to havoc caused by cyclone “Phailin” in the State of Bihar. SPMCIL contribution to Chief Minister’s Relief Fund is one among various other initiatives taken by the Company under its CSR initiative. The Cheque was presented in the presence of Shri S.K. Jha, Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) and other officials of SPMCIL.

        Security Printing & Minting Corporation of India Limited (SPMCIL) was created in January, 2006 and the nine units (consisting of four Mints, two Security Presses, two Currency Note Presses and one Security Paper Mill) functioning under Department Of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance were transferred to SPMCIL in February 2006. SPMCIL was created with an objective of improved decision making leading to enhanced productivity, efficiency and improved financial health of those nine units. The main business of SPMCIL is production of Bank Notes, Circulating Coins, Commemorative Coins, Medals and Medallions, Weights & Measures, various Security Products like Passports, Travel Documents, Non-judicial Stamp Papers, Postal Stationery and other Security Products and production of the Security Paper. The Company has been granted the Excellent rating by the Department of Public Enterprises (DPE) for its MoU evaluation during the year 2012-13 for fourth year in succession.

SPMCIL presented a cheque to the State Chief Minister as a corporate social responsibility contribution to the Chief Minister's Relief Fund for relief and rehabilitation after cyclone Phailin, described as one among several CSR initiatives and made in the presence of senior company officials.
