The Reserve Bank of India’s Reference Rate for the US dollar is Rs. 61.3313 and the Reference Rate for Euro is Rs. 84.3780 on December 11, 2013. The corresponding rates for the previous day (December 10, 2013) were Rs. 61. 2070 and Rs. 84.1510 respectively. Based on the Reference Rate for the US dollar and the middle rates of the cross-currency quotes, the exchange rates of GBP and JPY against the Rupee are given below:

Note : The SDR-Rupee rate will be based on the reference rate.

Reference exchange rate announcement sets benchmark rates and guides cross currency and SDR rupee conversions for market use. Reserve Bank of India announced Reference Rates for the US dollar and the Euro, provided previous-day comparisons, and stated that the SDR Rupee rate will be based on the Reference Rate; it also supplied derived pound sterling and Japanese yen rates using the US dollar Reference Rate and middle cross-currency quotes.
