The Reserve Bank of India’s Reference Rate for the US dollar is Rs.61.2070 and the Reference Rate for Euro is Rs.84.1510 on December 10, 2013. The corresponding rates for the previous day (December 9, 2013) were Rs.61.1785 and Rs.83.8195 respectively. Based on the Reference Rate for the US dollar and the middle rates of the cross-currency quotes, the exchange rates of GBP and JPY against the Rupee are given below:

Reference rate publication sets official currency benchmarks and fixes the basis for SDR Rupee conversion. Publication of Reference Rates by the central bank sets the official exchange benchmarks for the US dollar and the Euro and, using those rates with cross currency middle quotes, derives exchange rates for other currencies such as the pound sterling and the yen; the announcement specifies that the SDR Rupee rate will be determined on the basis of the published Reference Rate.
