It has been decided to constitute an Expert Committee to examine the current monetary policy framework of the Reserve Bank of India and recommend what needs to be done to revise and strengthen it with a view to, inter alia, making it transparent and predictable.

Monetary policy framework reform: expert committee to recommend transparent, predictable anchors and transmission improvements across markets. An Expert Committee has been constituted to examine and recommend revisions to the Monetary Policy Framework, including recommending an appropriate nominal anchor, reviewing organisational structure, operating framework and instruments (notably the multiple indicator approach and liquidity management), and identifying impediments to policy transmission with measures and institutional preconditions to improve transmission across financial market segments and the broader economy.Press 'Enter' after typing page number.
