A Centre of Excellence and Ethics to be Set up at Ajmer

Sign MOU with the Ministry of Corporate Affairs

An MOU was signed here today between the three Professional Institutes of the Ministry of Corporate Affairs viz., The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (represented through its President, Shri S. N. Ananthasubramanain) , The Institute of Cost Accountants of India (represented through its President, Shri Suresh Chandra Mohanty) and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (represented through its President, Shri Subodh Kr. Agrawal) for setting up a Centre of Excellence and Ethics at Ajmer, Rajasthan. Shri Sachin Pilot, Minister of Corporate Affairs, and Shri Naved Masood, The Secretary, Ministry of Corporate Affairs, were present on the occasion.

Other Objectives and Purposes of the MOU are:

• Creating a Knowledge hub
• Organising of programmes aimed at capacity building through financial literacy and accounting education for the benefit of local population
• Student Activities
• Members Activities
• Professional Development Activities
• Workshops and Seminars
• Outreach Activities
• Research Activities
• Conducting Research and outreach programmes on Investors Education and Protection, Corporate Governance and the best practices globally followed in the areas of Accounting, Cost Management, Corporate Governance etc., and
• Other activities in furtherance of the professions of the “Professional Institutes.”

Memorandum of Understanding establishes Centre of Excellence and Ethics to promote professional education and corporate governance. A Memorandum of Understanding between three professional institutes and the Ministry of Corporate Affairs establishes a Centre of Excellence and Ethics to create a knowledge hub and to conduct capacity building, professional development, outreach, and research on financial literacy, accounting education, investor education and protection, and corporate governance.
