The Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Statistics and Programme Implementation Shri Srikant Kumar Jena has said that as per information received in Ministry of Statistics & Programme Implementation uptil 31.07.2013, 223 Members of Parliament have committed a total of Rs. 4930 lakh from Members of Parliament Local Area Development Scheme (MPLADS) funds towards works in calamity-affected areas of Uttarakhand.
In a written reply in the Lok Sabha today Shri Jena said, the funds will be utilised in accordance with the Guidelines of MPLADS. Only those works which are permissible under the Guidelines of MPLADS will be undertaken from MPLADS funds. The execution of the works will be undertaken by the State Government departments/agencies in accordance with the State Government technical, financial and administrative rules.
MPLADS fund allocation must comply with scheme guidelines; only permissible works executed under state technical and administrative rules. Allocation of MPLADS funds for calamity-affected areas must be applied only to works expressly permitted under the MPLADS guidelines, and execution of such works is to be undertaken by State Government departments or agencies in accordance with State technical, financial and administrative rules.Press 'Enter' after typing page number.
