The Reserve Bank of India’s Reference Rate for the US dollar is Rs. 59.6995 and the Reference Rate for Euro is Rs. 77.9760 on June 28, 2013. The corresponding rates for the previous day (June 27, 2013) were Rs. 60.5880 and Rs. 78.9412 respectively. Based on the Reference Rate for the US dollar and the middle rates of the cross-currency quotes, the exchange rates of GBP and JPY against the Rupee are given below:

Reference rate publication sets exchange benchmarks and underpins derived cross currency and SDR rupee valuations for market use. The Reserve Bank of India published the Reference Rate for the US dollar and the Euro on June 28, 2013, provided the previous day's corresponding rates for comparison, and-using the dollar reference rate with middle cross currency quotes-derived exchange rates for the pound sterling and the Japanese yen; the press release states that the SDR Rupee rate will be based on the published reference rate.
