The Reserve Bank of India’s Reference Rate for the US dollar is Rs. 59.7030 and the Reference Rate for Euro is Rs. 78.3826 on June 25, 2013. The corresponding rates for the previous day (June 24, 2013) were Rs. 59.7340 and Rs. 78.2286 respectively. Based on the Reference Rate for the US dollar and the middle rates of the cross-currency quotes, the exchange rates of GBP and JPY against the Rupee are given below:

Note : The SDR-Rupee rate will be based on the reference rate.

Reference rate publication for major currencies sets benchmark exchange rates and underpins SDR conversion basis. The central bank announces the Reference Rate for the US dollar and the Euro, provides previous day comparisons, and publishes derived exchange rates for other currencies based on the dollar reference and cross currency middle rates; the SDR domestic currency conversion is to be based on the reference rate.
