Suspension and revocation of customs broker licence require notice, inquiry, hearing and may lead to penalties.

Suspension may be ordered where an enquiry is pending, but must be followed by a hearing and a decision to continue or revoke suspension. Revocation or penalty may follow for breach of bond conditions, regulatory non compliance, misconduct rendering the broker unfit, insolvency, unsoundness of mind, or conviction for offences; the process requires written notice, opportunity to submit defence and seek personal hearing, delegated inquiry with report, and final decision by the Commissioner, with an appeal to the appellate tribunal.
