Consumer status survives flat sales where a landowner lacks joint venture control, management participation, and profit-loss sharing.
Consumer status under the Consumer Protection Act, 1986 extends to a landowner under a construction-and-sharing arrangement where the landowner lacks joint control over development, participation in management, and exposure to profit and loss. A genuine joint venture requires these substantive features; an agreement's label is not decisive. Receipt of a specified constructed share, including an intention or actual sale of some allotted flats, does not by itself make the arrangement commercial or transform it into a joint venture. The landowner therefore remains entitled to consumer protection.

APEDA supports certified organic and value-added agricultural exports through market development, quality compliance, and overseas buyer linkages.

Forwarding of customs samples for outside laboratory testing is expanded through additional entities identified in an annexure, supplementing existing laboratory lists. The arrangement provides further entities where samples may be tested for importers, exporters, customs brokers and other stakeholders. It operates as a standing order for officers and staff of the concerned Custom House, with implementation difficulties referable to the officer responsible for Appraising Main (Export).
Explained cash deposits in a disclosed bank account cannot support an addition without contrary material.
Cash deposits in a bank account disclosed in the return were not treated as unexplained where the recorded pattern of repeated receipts and payments involving multiple persons supported the taxpayer's explanation that the account was used for money-lending. In the absence of contrary material or a finding displacing that explanation, the cash-deposit addition was unsustainable and stood deleted.
Revisionary jurisdiction under section 263 fails where assessment reflects enquiry, consideration of evidence, and a legally sustainable view.
Revisionary jurisdiction under section 263 requires the assessment order to be both erroneous and prejudicial to the interests of the Revenue. Where the Assessing Officer has raised queries, examined replies and supporting material, and completed the assessment after applying mind, revision cannot rest merely on a preference for a deeper or more detailed enquiry. Inadequate enquiry, unlike a complete lack of enquiry, does not by itself establish an erroneous and prejudicial order. A legally sustainable assessment reached after examination of relevant material is therefore not amenable to revision on that basis.
Project-specific anti-profiteering calculation requires comparing actual GST credits with pre-GST entitlements and allocating verified savings across saleable area before recalculation.
Section 171 of the CGST Act requires tax savings and input tax credit benefits to be passed to buyers through a commensurate reduction in prices. For real-estate projects, non-uniform input tax credit accrual and buyer collections require a project-specific anti-profiteering calculation: actual GST credit on post-GST procurements must be compared with credit available on those procurements under the pre-GST regime, and resulting savings allocated over total saleable area. The existing computation requires recalculation using this methodology after verification of the developer's material, including its affidavit, and the complainant's grievance concerning benefits received.
Mandalgarh, Bhilwara, is added to the Rajasthan entry in the table to Notification No. 12/97-Customs (N.T.). The location is authorised for unloading imported goods and loading export goods, including any class of those goods. The amendment expands notified customs locations in Rajasthan and permits those import-unloading and export-loading operations at Mandalgarh.
Statutory appellate remedy limits writ intervention where disputed input tax credit facts require adjudication through the prescribed appeal.
Statutory appellate remedy was treated as the appropriate route where input tax credit disputes required determination of contested facts. Writ jurisdiction was not exercised because the available appeal provided an efficacious remedy and allegations concerning denial of an effective hearing were not finally adjudicated. The petitioner was directed to pursue the statutory appeal, with any request to exclude time for limitation purposes to be considered by the appellate authority in accordance with law.

The compulsory-registration scheme bars import, sale, manufacture, storage for sale and distribution of notified electronic and IT goods unless they conform to prescribed Indian Standards and are registered after testing by a recognised laboratory. Registration is tied to the manufacturer, factory location, product and brand. Repaired, refurbished and second-hand notified goods need prior registration or a specific exemption. Importers must furnish accurate descriptions and customs tariff classification, upload the registration certificate, and ensure compliant Standard Mark labelling; goods not meeting these requirements must not be cleared.
Reassessment beyond four years fails where original scrutiny considered disclosed claims and no new material exists.
Reassessment initiated beyond four years requires both a reason to believe that income escaped assessment and the assessee's failure to make full and true disclosure of material facts. Where foreign-exchange loss, additional depreciation and interest income were examined during the original scrutiny assessment and supported by records, acceptance of the claims establishes an opinion even without express discussion in the assessment order. Absent new material or a disclosure failure, reopening is an impermissible change of opinion; recorded reasons cannot be supplemented by an unrecorded audit objection, rendering the reopening jurisdictionally invalid.

Punjab GST registration procedures require PAN-linked contact verification through separate one-time passwords, while risk-identified Aadhaar-authenticated applicants must complete biometric authentication, photograph capture and original-document verification at a Facilitation Centre. Input tax credit must be reversed where the supplier fails to furnish the corresponding GSTR-3B by the prescribed deadline, with re-availment permitted after subsequent filing. Differences between GSTR-1 or Invoice Furnishing Facility liability and GSTR-3B liability trigger electronic intimation, payment or explanation requirements, possible recovery, and restrictions on subsequent outward-supply reporting. GSTR-1 is expanded for supplies made through e-commerce operators.
Review jurisdiction requires a self-evident error; a land-unit description already considered cannot reopen factual findings.
Review jurisdiction under Section 114 read with Order XLVII Rule 1 of the Code of Civil Procedure is confined to newly discovered material unavailable despite due diligence, a self-evident error apparent on the face of the record, or analogous sufficient reason. It cannot be used to rehear a matter, revisit factual findings, or replace an existing view with another possible view. Use of "Aare" rather than "Hectare" in a sale deed, where the land-unit description had already been considered in the factual findings, did not constitute an error apparent on the face of the record and did not justify review.
GST interest on late returns excludes timely cash deposits and liabilities covered by available input tax credit.
GST interest for delayed payment is distinguishable from late furnishing of returns. Where the cash portion of tax is deposited by the prescribed due date, late return filing alone does not constitute delayed payment of that amount. In delayed-return situations, the proviso to Section 50(1) limits interest to tax paid through the electronic cash ledger; tax liabilities covered by available input tax credit in the electronic credit ledger are not treated as delayed cash payments. Consequently, an interest demand covering timely deposited cash tax or available input tax credit is unsustainable under the electronic-ledger scheme.

Registration suspended for specified cancellation-related contraventions is deemed revoked when all pending returns are furnished unless cancellation has already occurred. Interest on delayed return filing is generally confined to tax paid through the electronic cash ledger, subject to the stated proceedings exception; other unpaid tax and wrongly availed and utilised input tax credit attract interest under separate calculation rules. Export-refund claims receive revised documentation, valuation, mismatch-correction and withholding procedures, while FORM GSTR-3B and annual-return reporting are updated for electronic commerce and input tax credit disclosures.

Use of RFID e-seals supplied by specified vendors and procured or imported from Leghorn Group, Italy, is not permitted for export containers from Nhava Sheva until further orders because of identified security deficiencies. Affected containers dispatched before the restriction must undergo verification that seals are locked, using hand-held readers only. Selected containers may be examined based on exporter status, seal condition, destination, exporter history and commodity. Tampered RFID seals on self-sealed containers are subject to examination.
Costs for certified foreign documents were reduced, balancing judicial delay, accused expenses, and the complainant's production request.
Costs imposed on a complainant seeking production of certified documents under Section 311 of the Code of Criminal Procedure were reduced per complaint. The requested materials were certified copies obtained through earlier requisitions to foreign authorities, but repeated applications and delayed production had consumed judicial time and imposed litigation expense on the accused. Equities were balanced between those costs and the circumstances surrounding the request for production.

Customs clearance for goods subject to compulsory registration must not be denied solely because stickers have been affixed to display the Standard Mark. Where imported goods possess a unique registration number but lack the Standard Mark, the mark may be affixed before customs clearance by a representative of the manufacturing unit having a liaison office or branch office in India.
