E invoice and eway bill cancel

Post-delivery cancellation of e-invoices and e-way bills may require documentary support where movement has already concluded.
Post-delivery cancellation of an e-invoice and e-way bill may invite a GST compliance query where goods have reached their destination and a replacement invoice is issued without a fresh e-way bill. If the original e-way bill was valid during movement and the invoice or IRN was cancelled within the prescribed period for a genuine correction, the complete transaction trail should be retained. (AI Summary)

My question is ..

We generate e invoice and eway bill yesterday 23.09.2026 and vehicle reached to destination, today morning broker asking to cancel bill and eway bill so we cancelled it today morning it was within 24 hours and generate new invoice according to broker but not generate eway bill because movement of vehicle finished ..

Will any problem arise in future ?

Since the goods had already reached the destination, cancelling the original e-way bill after completion of movement and issuing a new invoice without a fresh e-way bill may invite a compliance query.

However, if the original e-way bill was valid during the actual movement and the invoice/IRN was cancelled within the prescribed 24-hour period for a genuine correction, maintain the complete documentary trail to explain the transaction if questioned later.

What is the reason for issuing the new invoice? Why is the broker asking to cancel both the docs?

More facts are required to comment on the implications.
