Exemption Rate of Duty

RAM SHARMA

Dear Experts,

We are manufacturing 5 to 6 product of  different rate of duty. Some of them exemption rate of duty 6% and some is 12% rate of duty. Can we take cenvat credit simultaneously and utilised for payment of duty of all product. There is any need to maintain separate record for separate product.

Thanks

Manufacturers can use CENVAT credit for products with different duty rates without maintaining separate records. A query was raised regarding whether a manufacturer producing products with different duty rates, some at an exemption rate of 6% and others at 12%, can simultaneously take CENVAT credit and use it for duty payment across all products. The concern was whether separate records need to be maintained for each product. The response clarified that there is no requirement to maintain separate accounts for this purpose. (AI Summary)

No, there is no need to maintain the Separate Set of Accounts for this.
