BONDING from SEZ unit by DTA unit?

SANTHANA KRISHNAN

a DTA unit wants to buy from a SEZ unit- ultimately for exporting purposes. can they bond the shipment by filling bond b/e - bond the shipment in a customs public bonded warehouse and export from the bonded warehouse to overseas party? pl advise.

DTA Units Must Secure Space Certificates to Bond SEZ Goods for Export; Warehousing Bill Entry Not Allowed per SEZ Rules. A DTA unit inquired about purchasing goods from an SEZ unit for export purposes and asked if they could bond the shipment in a customs public bonded warehouse. Pradeep Tyagi responded, explaining that the DTA unit must secure space in a bonded warehouse and obtain a space certificate from the warehouse manager. This allows goods to be cleared from the SEZ without duty payment and exported as needed. Ramamurthy pointed out that DTAs cannot file a warehousing bill of entry according to SEZ rules. Tyagi clarified that private bonded warehouses operate similarly to duty deferment schemes. (AI Summary)
