Clarifying TDS Deduction Timing in SAP: Liability Arises at Payment or Credit, Updated in FICO Module During MIRO. A user inquired about the timing of TDS deduction on job workers in SAP, specifically whether it occurs during MIGO or MIRO. One respondent asked for clarification on MIGO and MIRO, while another explained that TDS liability arises at the time of payment or credit, whichever is earlier. They further clarified that in SAP, the FICO module is updated during MIRO, suggesting that TDS liability arises at that point. (AI Summary)

Please clarify MIGO and MIRO.

DINESH AGGARWAL on Jul 13, 2011

Dear Nevil

TDS liability arises at the time of payment or credit to the account of party, whichever is earlier.

In SAP, FICO is updated vide MIRO.  Hence, in my opinion, liability of TDS is arises at the time of MIRO.

Hope this would clarify the issue.
