Ideally it should match. Any address added in the registration certificate has to be based on some documentary evidence.
I agree with Sh.Ganeshan Kalyani Ji. If the address differs, it will create technical problems. The department may object to it.The common portal system may not allow.
The address can be different. under GST registration is required of that premises from where is supply is made. Show the address may not be same as that which is mentioned in the incorporation certificate which could even be a corporate office from where no supply is made or at which place no supplies are received
