Cess imposed by State Government

KARAN VERMA

Sir, there is one cess called Punjab state cancer and drug addiction @ 10 paise per quintal on crushing of sugarcane.

Whether such cess automatically abolishe after GST or still sugar mill required to pay.

Cess continuity: Punjab state sugarcane crushing cess remains payable despite the introduction of GST. The Punjab state cancer and drug addiction cess on crushing of sugarcane has not been abolished post-GST, is not listed among abolished cesses, and therefore remains payable by sugar mills. This cess has not been abolished. This cess is not mentioned in the list of Cesses abolished. Not automatically abolished.
