Export of imported goods from Pakistan to Nepal

Export of imported goods requires foreign convertible payment; land and sea routes to Nepal permitted but bank set off issues possible.
Export of goods imported from Pakistan to Nepal is feasible under FTP 2015-20 provided payment is received in foreign convertible currency; a Nepal company may use either Indian land or sea routes for import. Practical compliance issues arise because some banks or exchange-control processes may not set off shipping bills for exports, sometimes requiring transfer of EDPMS data between banks to obtain shipping bill clearance, so careful bank selection is advised. (AI Summary)

Dear Sir,

Please clarify us as under:

1) We S.S. Overseas, Meerut, are importer and exporter. We want to know whether goods imported from Pakistan, can be exported to Nepal as per FTP 2015-20. If yes, we shall be allowed for exemption for custom duty as well IGST,

2) We are also planning to have a company in Nepal. Hence, please clarify whether a Nepal Company can use Indian Land Route for Import of goods from Pakistan or sea port also or both way are allowed to use.

With best regards,

Pushpendra Sharma
