Eway bill is mandatory for job work irrespective of value . If your state has made mandatory generation of eway bill, then yes or else mandatory for inter state transactions. Read Rule 138(1) of CGST rules .

Querist has not specified his state and furthermore States will have their own EWay bill provisions within state as per the powers given to them barring the value of goods. If respective state has made eway bill mandatory for job work in their eway bill Notification, the same has to be generated irrespective of value, as people normally manipulate the value of job work.

In our view E way bill is applicable in the state of Telangana for intrastate movement for jobwork purpose. Intra-state e-way bill system in Telangana from April 15.

1. Supplies for job work or sale having value of less than ₹ 50000/-

2. The consignee/ship to address is located within 50 kms from consignor/ship from location.

3. Supplies of goods to other unit having same GSTIN and within 50 kms of distance.
