D S R RAO

Telecom Franchisees Permitted to Sell Recharge Vouchers to Composite Retailers Under GST; Further Confirmation Advised A user inquired about whether a telecom franchisee can sell recharge vouchers and top-ups to registered composite retailers under the Goods and Services Tax (GST) framework. The discussion involved clarifications and interpretations of the query, with one participant suggesting that the question pertains to whether distributors can supply directly to retailers without intermediaries. Another participant detailed the current distribution process and sought confirmation on selling to composite scheme retailers. The final response indicated a belief that such sales are permissible but advised seeking additional opinions for confirmation. (AI Summary)

Sh.Mariappan Govindarajan Sir,

What I understand that the querist is asking whether Distributor can supply direct to retailer ? (without involving any intermediary i.e wholesale dealer ) ? I want your opinion. Thanks.

Sir,

Telecom Service Providers(BSNL;AIRTEL;JIO etc.,) are selling their service(voice recharge/data recharge/ c top Up/E top Up) to customers through Franchisees(Distributors) who are maintaining retail network chain.

The Franchisee is supplying stock to every retailer(Pan Shops.Grocery Shops,Cell Shops,General Stores etc multi business outlets) in normal way. Now the query is whether they can supply the stock to the retailers who are registered under composite scheme as Telecom product is comes under service sector.

I hope you got my point and please clarify whether Franchisee can sell the recharge product to retailers under composite scheme.

Thank You
