Trading in new product whether amendment in dealer registration required

Yatin Bhopi

Dear expert,

We are registered dealer under central excise. Now we wish to start trading activity in new product which was not mentioned at the time of obtaining dealer registration (in instruction no 15 of Form A-1, it is mentioned that we should mentioned major Three product under which we want to trade). hence we are assuming that there is no need to mentioned all products list manufactured / trade

Please let me know whether we need to amend our dealer registration certificate and add the new product? or there is no need to amend the registration certificate

Registered Dealer Queries Need for Amending Registration to Trade New Excisable Goods; Multiple Compliance Views Provided. A registered dealer under central excise inquired whether they need to amend their dealer registration to start trading a new product not listed in their original registration. Three responses were provided: one stated that amending the certificate is unnecessary for dealing with new excisable goods, another suggested that amending the certificate is a quick process that aids compliance, and the third advised that only intimation to the jurisdictional Range Office or Division Office is required.
