Can we send the vehilce out side our factory for weighing purpose.

Swapneswar muduli

Dear Sir,

As in our factory there is no facility of weighing so we want to send the scrap material after loading in truck outside of the factory for weighing purpose after that we will make the excise invoice.

So please advise it's permissible under excise or not ?

If not then what is the process for sending the material for weighing purpose.

Regards

Swapneswar Muduli

Factory Needs Permission to Weigh Scrap Externally; Follow CBEC Excise Manual Guidelines for Compliance A factory without an internal weighbridge seeks to send scrap material outside for weighing before issuing an excise invoice. Permission or notification to the jurisdictional authority is necessary, with documentation stating the removal is solely for weighing. Proper recording of movements is required. The CBEC's Excise Manual allows this under specific conditions, with permission granted by the Deputy/Assistant Commissioner for up to a year. A pre-printed, serially numbered challan is necessary, and weighment should occur at the nearest weighbridge. Random checks by authorities may occur, and internal weighbridge installation is recommended. (AI Summary)
