Clarification Issued: Molds and Dies Sent for Repair Must Return in 2 Years; No Limit for Manufacturing Inputs A query was raised regarding the rules for returnable gate passes (RGP) for molds and dies in the context of Central Excise. The initial question sought clarification on the RGP rules, specifically the time limits for keeping a gate pass open. In response, it was clarified that if molds and dies are sent out for repair and maintenance, they must be returned within two years. However, if they are sent out for manufacturing inputs on behalf of the sender, there is no time limit for their return. (AI Summary)

If Mould & Dies sent outside for getting repair and maintenance then within 2 years and if you have sent it for getting the inputs manufactured on your behalf then there is no time limit.
