Understanding Earned Leave: Government Employees Can Accumulate Up to 300 Days; Private Policies Vary. A forum participant inquired about the maximum number of earned leave days that can be surrendered annually and at retirement. One respondent clarified that in government departments, earned leave is credited semi-annually at 15 days and can accumulate up to 300 days, with a maximum of 180 days taken at once. Another respondent noted that private companies have their own policies regarding leave accumulation and surrender, suggesting that the company's specific policy should be consulted. (AI Summary)
