One Day PLA Payment Made Let

Dear Experts,

For the month of September-14 PLA Payment Deposit last date was 6th of October-14 but 4th of October-14 was Saturday, 5th was Sunday and 6th was Gov. Holiday Due to Eid a Mila Eid (PAN India Gov. Holiday) we deposit our PLA payment 7th of October is there any provision one day let PLA Payment concession or exemption from Excise Department .

PLA payment timing: online banking removes bank-closure excuse, taxpayers should pay one day interest for delay. Issue whether a one-day concession applies to PLA payment when the due date coincides with weekend and a government holiday; respondent states duty payments can be made online, negating bank-closure excuses, and advises payment of interest for the one-day delay rather than expecting exemption. Sir,

As the duty payment can now be paid online through internet banking, therefore question of non payment due to closure of banks does not arise.

It would be advisable to pay one day interest.
