of <h1>Crackdown on Unauthorized Property Valuers Operating Under Wealth-tax Act Section 34AB; Legal Actions Advised by Chief Commissioner.</h1> Complaints have been received regarding property valuation reports submitted by unregistered or de-registered valuers under the Wealth-tax Rules effective from June 1, 1988. These valuers continue to operate under section 34AB of the Wealth-tax Act, 1957, despite being ineligible. The responsibility for addressing these malpractices falls under the jurisdiction of the Chief Commissioner of Income-tax. It is recommended that a list of registered valuers, approved by the Chief Commissioner, be distributed to all Assessing Officers. Reports from unapproved valuers should be rejected, and legal action should be initiated against unauthorized valuers.
