of <h1>Duty-Free Import of Furnace Oil and Petroleum Products Allowed for 100% EOUs Without Separate License</h1> 100% Export Oriented Units (EOUs) are allowed duty-free import of furnace oil and petroleum products without requiring a separate import license, as the Letter of Approval issued by the Board of Approval or Development Commissioner serves as the necessary license. Petroleum products, being canalized items, must be procured through authorized oil companies. This clarification resolves issues arising from differing interpretations of earlier notifications. The provisions also apply to procurement of petroleum products from domestic sources. The earlier notification has been replaced by a new one permitting duty-free import of fuel lubricants and consumables for captive power plants upon approval by the Customs Commissioner based on the Development Commissioner's recommendation. Pending clearance cases should be decided according to this clarification.
