of <h1>Income Tax Department Updates ITO's Control Register to Triennial Cycle, Simplifies Format for Efficiency and Compliance.</h1> The Income Tax Department has revised the procedure for maintaining the ITO's Control Register (ITNS-132), commonly known as the Blue Book. Previously maintained annually, the Register will now be updated every three years starting from 1986-87 to reduce time and labor. The format has been simplified, eliminating redundant columns and adding new ones to align with current laws and departmental needs. The revised Register, effective from April 1, 1986, will be locally printed on A2 size paper, except where computerized forms are used. This change aims for efficient record-keeping and is expected to be well-received by relevant officials.
