New Export Monitoring Rule Allows DEEC Part II and Licensing Certificate to Discharge Duty Bonds, No Shipping Bills Needed
The circular clarifies that for monitoring export obligations under the Duty Exemption Scheme and EPCG Scheme, the production of a certificate from the Licensing authority along with DEEC Part II endorsed by Customs at the port of export is sufficient for discharge or waiver of the bond. It eliminates the prior requirement to submit DEEC/Export Promotion copies of Shipping Bills as evidence. This change follows discussions and decisions made at a Commissioners' Conference, aiming to simplify the procedure. Customs authorities are instructed to modify public notices and standing orders accordingly to reflect this updated requirement.
