of <h1>Board Approves Reappointment of Assistant Commissioners as Valuation Officers u/s 12A of Wealth-tax Act, 1957.</h1> The Board has approved the appointment of officers at the Assistant Commissioner level under section 12A of the Wealth-tax Act, 1957. Previously appointed Income-tax Officers, who served as Valuation Officers for shares and securities and were later promoted to Assistant Commissioners, had their Valuation Officer roles canceled. The new decision allows these officers to be reappointed as Valuation Officers. Future proposals for Valuation Officer appointments may include both Income-tax Officers and Assistant Commissioners, provided they have experience in Company Circles or hold qualifications as Commerce graduates or Chartered Accountants.
